INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL FOR COMPUTERBASED ART
AND TRANSDISCIPLINARY PROJECTS
CYNETART Festival is produced by the Trans-Media-Akademie Hellerau e.V. in cooperation with HELLERAU - European Centre for the Arts Dresden as well as the European networking and cooperation project SHAPE Platform.
From 10th to 16th of November 2016 you can experience the six-day CYNETART – international festival for computer based arts and transdisciplinary projects at the historically significant Hellerau Festival Theatre. The festival offers exhibitions, presentations, readings, workshops, performances, transdisciplinary media art projects and concerts. Our 20th anniversary theme: "The Enigmatic Moment".
This year's festival is both a reflection of the contemporary Zeitgeist as well as a reinvention of the presentation platform and it’s special artistic orientation and quality. But above all, it’s an invitation to the audience to discover the new and old in a special way. The CYNETART, which has been held since 1997, dedicates itself to cultural reflection. Our focus lies less on the capabilities of new technologies, but rather on their cultural exchange potential and to bridge the gap between intuition, crafts, aesthetics and narrative.
Every two years, TMA Hellerau announces the international CYNETART Competition. Once again grateful and proud to award three prizes this year. The Grant Award of the Saxon State Minister for Higher Education, Research and the Arts 2016 donated with 10.000 € for a project realization in 2017. The Artist-in-Residence Scholarship of the Saxon Ministry of State in 2016, which is awarded together with the Dresden Office for Cultural and Heritage Protection for a project realization with a maximum of € 10,200 in 2017. Both the Grant and the Scholarship are intended for emerging artists with residence in Germany or Germans living abroad, which dedicate themselves in their artistic exploration to trans-disciplinary art forms and approaches and is recognized for the finished work presented at the Festival CYNETART. The international CYNETART Award endowed with 5.000 € is supported by the Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden and is intended for international artists to produce a new work in 2017.
